PomPom Power!

These PomPoms were made by Frédérique Power and her family.  Frédérique made the crocheted PomPoms and her children the other ones.
Frédérique also has been helping cutting templates to be used by children to make PomPoms when we have been visiting groups.  A mega thank you!

PomPoms from Jane Robertson and friends

This lovely selection, with a Christmassy feel when hung against a fir tree, was made by Jane Robertson and a number of friends she persuaded to get involved including her boys, Robin, Matilda, Freya, Lucy, Kate and Tessa (apologies if we have missed anyone out!).

Perhaps this will start a trend for Christmas 2013 to have a tree covered only in handmade PomPom decorations!  Job lots will be available after the PomPom Blossom Festival!

These lovely PomPoms were made by Helen and Trevor Cooper.

This is the photo looking down on them:

And this is the photo looking up at them:

It is surprising how different they look!

A surprise package in the post from McArees

We have been receiving some lovely and unexpected surprises in the post here at PomPom HQ.  Each day, the postman is ringing the doorbell and another precious package is received with great delight.

These PomPoms arrived in the post a few days ago from McArees, a fantastic wool and haberdashery shop, which I know from Stirling, but there are also branches in Edinburgh and Falkirk, as well as a pretty comprehensive online wool shop.  The lovely McArees staff made these in their breaks.  Thank you - that is so kind of you! You can see more photos of them over on their blog

Once all this PomPom fun is finished, I really want to learn to crochet and will hopefully be treating myself to one of their beginners workshops!

Plastic Bag PomPom

Moira Gow made these PomPoms.  The large one uses a variety of different well known shop bags to great effect – how many different brands can you spot?! Thank you Moira.

PomPoms from the Women's Guild

A huge thank you to all the women from the Women's Guild of Balfron Church of Scotland.  They had been busy making clothing for the ‘Fish and Chip’ Babies and, with the leftover wool, they have been making PomPoms by the dozen to help make Balfron beautiful!

These photos are of the first bag of PomPoms, of which there were 45 and there are more to come.  Thank you!

Bethsy Gray's pompoms

Here are some lovely large pompoms made by Bethsy Gray of Bethsy Gray Jewellery.  According to Alice, her daughter, she is amazingly fast at making them and they turn out beautifully!

This final pompom was made by Alice of Wonderland and has been nicknamed 'Fluffy'.

Travelling PomPoms

These lovely PomPoms were made by the Murphy family on their way from London to Scotland on holiday.  Thanks to you all.

PomPoms from North and South

It’s wonderful that spring has finally arrived and the sun shone on the daffodils and PomPoms whilst I took these photos.
These PomPoms come from the opposite ends of the country.  The blue ones are from Mahri Prince from Aberdeenshire and the white one is from Pamela Cranston in London.

Thank you to you both!

Tiny PomPoms from the Douglas family

As someone who is relatively short in height, I am a firm believer in small is beautiful.  These gorgeously bright PomPoms back this up!

Apparently they were made by wrapping the wool round forks rather than doughnuts of card.

A big thank you to Frances and Fiona and the rest of the Douglas family.

PomPoms from Solway Quilters

This week, I was invited to give a talk and run a workshop for Solway Quilters.  I had mentioned the PomPom Blossom Festival to them but even so, I was really surprised and thrilled when they presented me with some PomPoms they had made from fabric strips.

Thank you so much ladies!  The PomPoms are delightful and I had a fabulous time whilst I was there.  You were a wonderful group to work with.

PomPoms from Grangemouth and Balfron

These PomPoms are the creation of Sarah Black and her mother-in-law Isa Black.  Sarah’s are the green and turquoise ones.  The colour combinations are great!  Thank you Sarah and Isa.

Another exciting parcel of PomPoms in the post

For once, we are really enjoying the post arriving, especially when the doorbell rings as it means there could be another parcel of PomPoms.  These lovely PomPoms arrived during the week and are the holiday creations of Shirley MacLachlan and her extended family.

Thank you so much – they are wonderfully colourful!

PomPoms from Edinburgh

PomPom Parcel
This interesting parcel arrived in the post the other day.  It was very exciting to open it and discover this amazing array of PomPoms made by Jane Rae, Frieda Oxenham, Fiona Sutherland and others (we’ll add the names when we get them).
Thank you so much ladies!
The contents of the parcel
As it has been a bit damp over the past few days, eventually we had to photograph them inside.  There is no problem with them being out in the rain, but storing wet PomPoms wouldn’t be fun.

The PomPoms are pouring in at the moment, which is brilliant. It will take a few days to get them all photographed and on the blog, but they are coming!  There were 41 pompoms in this parcel, so more photos of these ones soon too.

Rachel's pompoms

Here are some pompoms from Rachel Pugh and her girls.  We love the colour effects they’ve obtained with the dark navy and bright pink!

PomPom no.130

Thank you to Luci Anderson, who made this lovely PomPom from leftover organza, with some help from Aoife.
It stands really nicely - perhaps organza could be used to make a really big PomPom?

Luci's organza came from eventsdecor, a great local business which does as its name suggests: decorates events to make them really special!

Sarah Black's pompoms

These beauties were made by Sarah Black of Balfron.  It’s amazing how much variety you can get just with two colours – thank you Sarah!
